I’m Raed (pronounced like Rapid without the P), a Capital Emmy-nominated documentary filmmaker and writer based in Brooklyn.

My documentary journalism & nonprofit videography work has taken me from the Bolivian Andes to the wild apple forests of Kazakhstan. I’ve partnered with international nonprofits, media outlets including BBC News and Christianity Today, and academic institutions such as the UVA Center for Politics.

I direct, shoot, edit, and contribute to editorial and creative strategy across a range of multimedia projects.

Common Grounds? (2021)

“Common Grounds?,” the first ever student-produced documentary by the University of Virginia Center for Politics, was nominated in the category for Best Cultural/Topical documentary by the Capital Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. The film features several students from the center’s 2021 intern class and other UVA students of contrasting political views working together to achieve a shared goal.
